Florida, FL (prHWY.com) March 24, 2013 - Florida Mar 24, 2013 - A custom trade show booth is uniquely designed and constructed for your company-not made of custom graphics on a prefabricated frame. Custom booths can give you great freedom in choosing the shape, design, layout and configuration of your booth-and they can make your company stand out from the crowd on the exhibit floor. Here are eight points to keep in mind when designing a custom booth for your next trade show appearance.

There's more to it than size. It's definitely true that if your booth dwarfs its neighbors, it will attract plenty of attention. But this isn't in every company's budget. Still, it can be worthwhile for you to design a custom booth, even if you can't afford to be the biggest exhibitor on the block.

Consider the products you want to promote. When designing your own booth, the best place to start is with your products. Which ones do you plan to promote at the exhibit? It's usually better to pick a few strong products than to dilute your message with a wide array. Choose a few products you plan to promote aggressively-and consider how much space you'll need to do each one justice. Brainstorm about methods of promotion for each one-including multimedia presentations, demonstrations, display, signage, furniture, and copy.

Trade Show Booth Displays - Consider your theme. Your booth's overall theme can be your company's main marketing message, or it can be something specific to the show, the product and the time. It just needs to appeal to your target audience. Your theme will inform all facets of your graphics and booth design.

Consider ways to make your booth interactive. Interactivity is crucial in attracting attention and participation. Consider how you can work in opportunities for customers to interact with your booth for each product-including interactive media, free demos, and more. Each interactive feature will require a certain amount of space for equipment and for people to participate comfortably.

Consider how many salespeople you'll need. The amount of staff you have working your booth should depend on the volume of visitors you expect. You can figure a rough estimate by considering the volume of visitors at the show, the amount of pre-show promotion you've done, or the amount of visitors you had last year at the same show. The general rule is to allow about 15 square metres or 50 square feet per person.

Some vendors get creative by choosing a unique shape for their booth-a circular space or one that's open on three or four sides, for example. Others grab attention with dazzling light displays, eye-catching graphics, and high-tech special effects. There are plenty of ways to stand out that don't rely on size.

Consider your goals. Is your only goal to attract new visitors-or do you want to make some sales as well? If you plan on having salespeople pitch one-on-one to important prospects, you may need an area of the booth set aside for impromptu sales meetings. Consider designing a corner separate from the main booth activity where a member of your sales staff can sit down with an important prospect to discuss your product.

Pop Up Trade Show Display - Professional exhibit design firms can work with you in designing a custom booth that will get attention-without going over-budget. Look for a full-service booth design company that has a portfolio of projects that appeal to you-they don't have to be companies you've heard of, and they don't necessarily need to have worked in your industry before.
