Best time to visit world's richest country
What comes to mind when you think of Qatar? For me, it is always Al Jazeera channel, a television network with its HQ in Doha and Qatar Airways, luxurious shopping and the richest country in the world according to 2012 Forbes publication.

In order to jump on the bandwagon, the Sultanate of Oman has signed an agreement with the State of Qatar to issue joint tourist visas for visitors from 33 affluent countries around the world. This joint tourist visa allows a visitor to visit both Qatar and Oman without having to apply for another visa provided they do not visit a third country within the one month validity period. Now this is a great opportunity for tourists to put Qatar and Oman on their must-visit list before the visa requirement changes again, which is often for Qatar. For example, prior to September 2012, all residents of GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries can easily get a 1 month tourist visa at QR100. However, after that time, the rules had become strict and if your profession stated on your Resident Permit is not in their list, then you will have to get visa sponsorship from a Qatari national, a Qatari company or a hotel you will be residing at. The price to pay would be five times the usual as well. Thus, it is always better to call your nearest Qatar embassy or check our visa requirements to find out before you start making any bookings of flights and hotels.
