Chana futures up; new supply weighs.
Chana futures were up on on hopes of a pick-up in domestic buying, though supplies from the new season crop and prospects of a higher output capped the gains. Traders expect fresh demand created by the upcoming Holi festival to lend support to prices. Indians will celebrate Holi on March 27.
Chilli, turmeric prices decline on subdued demand
Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks. Weakening trend in futures market also put pressure on the select spice prices. Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,100-11,100 and Rs 6,700-11,400 per quintal, respectively.
