Entries for Dubai Quality Group's 'Idea of the Year' competition open until April 1

Outstanding ideas generated through Employee Suggestion Schemes to be recognised during 8th Ideas.Arabia International Conference in Dubai

Dubai Quality Group (DQG), a non-profit organization that advances learning, promotes quality improvement and business excellence practices, has announced that it has received numerous entries from various leading corporate organizations for the 8th Ideas.Arabia 'Idea of the Year' competition that recognizes employees and organizations for outstanding ideas that ultimately improve business performance and quality of services. DQG has further announced that entries are still being accepted until April 1, 2013.

The competition is open to creative suggestions that have been suggested and implemented in a company within the last 12 months. The awarding ceremony will serve as one of the highlights of the 8th Ideas.Arabia International Conference 2013, which will be held on April 22 to 23, 2013 at Al Bustan Rotana, Dubai.

Badriya Al Tamimi, Managing Director of DQG, said: "I believe that our country's collective quest for excellence will require the participation of all members of society. Dubai Quality Group has therefore organized the 'Idea of the Year' competition to stimulate better interaction between employees and management within different business organizations, which serves as an important step towards realizing our vision of building a culture of proactive participation, constructive thinking and excellence within society. DQG will continue to build on the success of this initiative to develop parallel programs that will enable us to reach out to more business organizations in the UAE."

The 8th Ideas.Arabia 'Idea of the Year' competition will give awards in seven categories: Idea of the Year (overall), Technology, Productivity, Customer Services, Environmental, Health & Safety, and Financial. The Idea of the Year award is for ideas considered the best in all areas; 'Technology' is for ideas that make an improvement through a manufacturing, engineering or technical solution; 'Productivity' is for ideas that raise the general awareness and importance of productivity within an organization; 'Customer Services' is for ideas that improve services to customers; 'Environmental' recognizes ideas that improve the environment by utilizing energy and other resources in an efficient manner; 'Health & Safety' deals with ideas that improve the health and personal safety of employees, equipment safety and operational security of the plant; and 'Financial' is for ideas that improve financial efficiency of an organization.

DQG has organized the 'Idea of the Year' competition to provide an opportunity for participating companies to benchmark against other leading organizations, while creating a motivational tool for employees to achieve excellence.
