Arab importers take part in agricultural fair in Brazil with support of Arab Brazilian Chamber
The event presented an ideal platform for the Arab importers to engage in discussions with various Brazilian companies

The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) recently took a group of importers from different Arab countries to take part in Expodireto Cotrijal, an agricultural fair that was held in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. The event presented an ideal platform for the Arab importers to engage in discussions with various Brazilian companies that are keen on establishing or strengthening their presence in the high potential markers of the Middle East and North Africa.
Dr. Michel Alaby, General Secretary and CEO of ABCC, delivered a presentation at the trade fair, wherein he highlighted the growing business potential between Brazil and Arab countries. He pointed out that the trade volume between Brazil and the Arab world has been rising steadily, with exports from Rio Grande do Sul alone to Arab countries reaching USD 1.36 billion in 2012. Beef and chicken, followed by cereals, grains and tobacco were the chief items exported, while fossil fuels and fertilizers were the main goods that were imported from the Arab countries.
The group of Arab importers visited the fair at the invitation of the event organizers, who counted on the support of the Arab Brazilian Chamber to bring the Arab companies to Brazil.
