Chana futures up 0.75 pc on better spot demand.
Chana prices rose by Rs 25 to Rs 3,358 per quintal in futures trade as speculators enlarged their positions on rising demand in the spot market. Restricted arrivals in the physical market also influenced the chana prices at futures trade. At the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange, chana for May contract rose Rs 25, or 0.75 per cent to Rs 3,358 per quintal with an open interest of 47,320 lots.
Turmeric price increases
Turmeric prices gradually on the rise, trade sources here said they expected that it would touch Rs 7000 a quintal within a couple of days. Turmeric price, which was Rs 6527 a quintal in January first week, had touched Rs 6989 a quintal. On Thursday, the price of spot turmeric increased by Rs 250 a quintal and hybrid variety by Rs 150 a quintal.
