Manhattan Beach, CA (prHWY.com) March 6, 2013 - Manhattan Beach, CA, February 8, 2013 - The Manhattan Beach Cosmetic Dentist offers an alternative to traditional braces with Six Month Smiles treatment. Using this approach, teeth can be straightened in a much shorter period of time than with traditional braces. Six Month Smiles braces use discreet orthodontic appliances that do not impact the appearance of the patient's smile.

Formerly there were few choices available to patients wishing to straighten crooked or crowded teeth. "Many patients avoided orthodontic work because they didn't want to deal with the hassle and pain of traditional braces," says Dr. Steven Firshein. "Now, however, innovative cosmetic dentistry solutions make it possible for us to straighten teeth using discrete dental appliances in a much shorter period of time."

Six Month Smiles braces used at the Manhattan Beach Cosmetic Dentist office are similar to conventional adult orthodontics with one main difference. The goal with traditional long term adult orthodontics seeks to perfect the patient's dental bite. Since many people with crooked front teeth do not have an issue with their dental bite, Six Month Smiles braces can be finished more quickly because the focus is not on altering the patient's bite. These short-term braces concentrate on only the teeth that show when smiling and uses clear brackets and tooth colored wires that are unnoticeable and easy to wear.

This treatment option is also generally more affordable than traditional braces and veneers. The system can be used to correct crooked or crowded teeth and large gaps in the patient's smile. Desired results are usually achieved in about four to nine months, with an average treatment time of six months.
