Telefonica and Gas Natural Fenosa are the Most Admired Spanish Companies

The two companies appear on the list of the world's most highly-regarded companies produced by the American magazine Fortune. The league table is headed by Apple.

Gas Natural Fenosa and Telefónica are the only two Spanish companies on the ranking of the world's most-admired companiesproduced by the American magazine Fortune.

Gas Natural received a score of 6.67, placing it at number two in the energy sector, eight places higher than the year before, when it was positioned at number 10.

Telefónica received the same score, putting it at number four in the telecommunications sector. Telefónica has dropped one place with respect to the year before, when it was in third place.

Nevertheless, not a single Spanish company is ranked among the 50 most admired companies in the world, and only eight European companies make it onto the list.

In order to produce this ranking, Fortune and the Hay Group compiled data on around 1,500 companies, asking executives and analysts to give their opinions on various aspects such as social responsibility and the value of investment, for example.
