Dealing with Violence
Documentary on emotional abuse and domestic violence inspires companion guide

These statistics are quite alarming. Spurred by this growing problem, filmmaker Barbara Kubica explored emotional abuse in her educational film, Burning the Soul: Dealing with Emotional Child Abuse. Passionate about social issues after graduating university, Ms. Kubica produced a documentary examining the harmful nature of abuse. The film received partial funding and experienced educational distribution in Australia and New Zealand for 10 years. The statistics aren't changing, and Ms. Kubica has composed a companion book to her film, entitled Domestic Violence Guide. The book is dedicated to educating about the damaging effects of emotional abuse, and discussing how it leads to various social problems, including homelessness, prostitution, and drug addiction.
"The damage of emotional abuse involves losing one's sense of self along with the inability to form healthy relationships," writes Ms. Kubica. Her book aims to educate and help those individuals trapped in an unhealthy relationship, and give them the tools to break free. Understanding the signs of violence and how to approach it is the key. Domestic Violence Guide gives those suffering hope of breaking free.
The 36 page book is available now via Amazon Kindle for $1.49 or in hard copy on http://www.dealingwithdomesticviolence.com.
