Technology is the angular stone over which is base the modern society but like everything else in life; where there is a need, there is an opportunity for someone to make money from that need, that is how everything started.

Capital Governorate, Bulgaria (prHWY.com) March 1, 2013 - Technology is the angular stone over which is base the modern society but like everything else in life; where there is a need, there is an opportunity for someone to make money from that need, that is how everything started. Computers began to become popular and the software developers began to get rich, you would think that is insignificant I only have 3 maybe 4 pieces of software the I paid for. That was maybe true before, but now days more and more software is costing us money although on a smaller scale compare to large corporations, that is why corporation are recurring to the open source alternative to manage their IT needs, ERP, CRM, SCM, are some of the examples of the needs big corporations had that found a solution in projects like the ADempiere project. This project was developed for a community to bring open source options to small and large corporations.

Now we have been talking about open source software but; what is open source software? Also known as OSS, it refers to a free and open source code offer to the public under a license of the same type that allows developers to modify the code to develop software with accommodations to their needs. Using this type of software has kept a lot of struggling companies a float and is making many other big companies change their IT solutions to a model more business intelligent model
Alfresco and others and others like the mention before; ADempiere project are leading the industry of the Enterprise Resource Planning now days providing low cost solutions for this companies that have taken the first step into a new era on the technology front. Although we are still depending in licensed software for the majority of our software needs we are rapidly moving towards a technology world every day more and more open in its ''source'' so to speak , that is opening new horizons to what we can do.

Today, we are just taking the first step into the open source revolution, with our document management system developing a new business intelligent model based on Pentaho & JaspeSoft. But, tomorrow our ERP or CRM is going to be the least of our worries because every single piece of software that we can think of is going to be open source and out there to grab. A door that open with projects like Unix and make people laugh, in the future are going to be the standard we are going to follow into the new era of IT solutions. So, for now let's continue working and supporting the thinks we have and the initiatives like the ADempiere project with it's; ERP, CRM, solutions or the Alfresco community with their enterprise content managing systems. Because that's the course we all are going to follow in a not that far future, this model of commercialized software is taking its last breath and opening the way trough for the most important modern revolution of all, the open source revolution.
