London, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) February 25, 2013 - A five-day dog sledding holiday in Lapland will double as both a fundraiser and a memorial for Locks Heath, Fareham resident Carolyn Turner.

The challenge, the funds to which will benefit Child Bereavement UK, will serve as an exercise in remembrance for Turner, who became involved with the charity after her 21-month-old daughter, Jessica, accidentally drowned at a family friend's swimming pool, in July 2008.

Since then, Carolyn and husband Paul have raised over £35.000 for Child Bereavement UK, with the planned dog sledding holiday through Lapland being only the latest of many charitable projects the couple has been involved in. Other initiatives the Turners have supported included balls, retro nights, the 2011 London Marathon, and a London-Amsterdam cycling tour in 2012.

For this new challenge, Carolyn will be accompanied by friend Louise Simmons, who will brave the elements and cross the Arctic winter alongside the 40-year-old Hampshire resident. Focusing on this new objective is considered by both women to be a tribute to Jessica.
