Volvo To Reward Safest Transport Contracts In North America
The North American arm of renowned car manufacturers Volvo will be granting a substantial sum in money to companies carrying out the safest transport contracts in the region, at their upcoming awards.

In its fifth year of existence, and awarded in partnership with Michelin, the Volvo Truck Safety Award amounts to $25.000 and is attributed to the two fleets across the United States and Canada which possess the safest overall fleet.
Participant companies should operate at least five Class 8 vehicles, and at least one Volvo truck. Judging will be based on number of accidents, as well as number and manner of accident prevention exercises. Fleets are divided into two categories according to distance travelled: over or under 20 million miles.
Volvo is currently the third biggest manufacturer of trucks in the world, and is preparing a buyout of a Chinese company, which should help solidify their position in the field even further.
