Emerald Knight Research Shows Growing Awareness of Ethical Investments

Conducted for the company by Atomik Research, an independent third party, the survey reveals that nearly 86 percent of people in the U.K. are unsure how banks or other institutions invest their money.

London, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) February 25, 2013 - London, United Kingdom (January 24, 2013) - Investment firm Emerald Knight is sharing the results of their recent research regarding the increased awareness on ethical investments throughout the U.K.

Conducted for the company by Atomik Research, an independent third party, the survey reveals that nearly 86 percent of people in the U.K. are unsure how banks or other institutions invest their money. Meanwhile, 59 percent of the sample group say they are unfamiliar with the concept behind ethical investments. This figure marks an improvement from the 63 percent who said the same thing last year.

Perhaps as a result of the U.K. Banking Crisis, the survey also reports that 80 percent of respondents have less faith and trust in traditional financial institutions. At the same time, 76 percent state their concern for how their financial choices impact critical issues like climate change, human rights, and deforestation. Finally, an enthusiastic 60 percent express interest in investing ethically if provided with additional information.
