Dubai Quality Group launches 10th cycle of Emirates Women Award

Dubai Quality Group (DQG), a non-profit organization that advances learning, promotes quality improvement and business excellence practices, has today (February 14, 2013) launched the 10th cycle of the Emirates Women Award (EWA) during a press conference held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Dubai. Organised under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman & CEO of Emirates Airlines, the Emirates Women Award honours and celebrates women who have excelled in their respective fields. It also aims to inspire and encourage the future generation of women leaders to achieve their true potential and advance their status in the society.

During the press conference, DQG announced that Award Workshops will be held from February to April, 2013 and the deadline for nominations is 15th of April, 2013. The judges' Assessment Phase will be from 16th April to 19th May 2013 and the final decision by the Supreme Jury will be made in the third week of May 2013. Following that, the Awards Ceremony to announce the winners will be held in late May.

This year, the Awards will feature Overall Winners in the categories of Business Owner and Professional as well as 5 Criteria Winners in the categories of Overall best performer - Leadership criterion; Overall best performer - Strategic and Financial Planning criterion; Overall best performer - Career Achievements criterion; Overall best performer - Community Contributions criterion; and Overall best performer - Innovation criterion.

Last year, Shaikha Budoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairperson of the Sharjah Ladies Club, Chairperson of Al Qasba Development Authority and Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), was honoured for her contributions to social, economic and cultural development in UAE. Other winners included Amal Sultan Moosa Al Halyan (Innovation); Salha Obaid Ghobash (Community Contribution); Taif Sabah Al Sarraj (Career Achievements); Dr Salwa Abdullah Al Suwaidi (Strategic and Financial Planning); Dr Jeehan Abdul Ilah Abdul Qadir (Leadership); Shahla Ahmed Abdul Razak (overall winner in the professional category); Rafia Helal bin Drai (overall winner in the business category) and Lama Bazzari (overall winner in the business category).

Dubai Quality Group is non-profit business organization set up by the Dubai Department of Economic Development under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Guided by the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Quality Group was established in 1993 to develop and promote quality and business excellence practices in UAE.
