Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) February 12, 2013 - Airport hotels are convenient. Their prime location near the Vancouver Airport makes them a favorite location for people who are traveling to or from the Vancouver area, but there is one small problem - the noise.

A group of Vancouver airport hotels have come up with a solution to the noise. They are proposing that they build their hotels underground.

"We feel that if we are able to build the hotels underground then the noise would be cut down dramatically", said one of the owners of the hotel. "I think this would improve the airport hotel experience for my customers and allow them to get a good night's rest."

The project would require that the group of hotels invest in an expensive and costly digging project. The project would require a hole that could accommodate several stories be dug underground.

"We would be unable to have a 10 or 20 story hotel underground", said the hotel owner. "However, we would be able to have at least seven or eight stories. That would offer us a chance to offer several dozen rooms to travelers with a chance for them to have a quiet setting and atmosphere."

There would still be several upright hotels in the area, but these underground hotels would provide travelers with an alternative lodging choice. They would be allowed to pick which arrangements they liked and which ones they feel more comfortable it.

"We think travelers will just love these new Vancouver airport hotels", said the hotel owner. "We conducted several focus groups and people seemed really interested in it."

The focus groups allowed the owners of the hotel to identify several problems that might arise from having hotels of this nature. One of the biggest problems or concerns was the lack of sunshine or outdoor light.

"We had several focus group members express their concern over a lack of sunlight and outdoor views if they were underground", said one of the hotel owners. "We solved that problem by creating virtual windows that allow people to see outside. There are also several lights that mimic sunlight in each room. It really is amazing."

The underground group of Vancouver airport hotels will be scheduled for opening sometime in 2016. It is estimated it could take up to two years to dig the huge hole that is required, and another few years to design and build the rest of the buildings underground.
