Dr. Jawed Ehsan Recognized by GM of United Airlines

Dr. Jawed Ehsan saved the life of a fellow passenger on a flight from Los Angeles to Chicago.

Schaumburg, IL (prHWY.com) February 7, 2013 - The GM of United Airlines is pleased to award Dr. Jawed Ehsan with a Letter of Appreciation for his heroic leadership during a flight from Los Angeles to Chicago. Onboard the aircraft, a fellow passenger had a sudden heart attack, falling out of his seat and into the aisle. Seeing the commotion and realizing that something was wrong, Dr. Jawed Ehsan rushed to the passenger's side and performed basic care, saving the man's life.

Dr. Jawed Ehsan's quick actions on the flight made him an unexpected hero. However, despite the praise and recognition, Dr. Jawed Ehsan remains humble about the situation. "I'd like to thing that anyone else with the same professional background as me would have done the same thing," explains Dr. Jawed Ehsan. To Dr. Jawed Ehsan, working in medicine is a commitment to helping others no matter what.

Because of the situation that transpired on the flight, Dr. Jawed Ehsan is a proponent of educating the greater public about basic CPR skills. He is also passionate about teaching the warning signs of a health crisis such as a stroke or heart attack. By teaching the public the basic warning signs and what they should do if the situation arises, Dr. Jawed Ehsan hopes that lives can be saved. "It can take several minutes to reach a hospital or for emergency crews to arrive once something happens," says Dr. Jawed Ehsan. "If someone knows how to do something immediately, it can help buy time."

As Dr. Jawed Ehsan continues to earn recognition as a philanthropic doctor, he encourages others to get involved in community service. Dr. Jawed Ehsan is a firm believer that everyone is in a position to help someone around them, and it just so happened that he was able to help someone else on the same aircraft as him.
