indore, India (prHWY.com) January 31, 2013 - Chilli, jeera prices rise as demand picks up
Red chilli and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital, largely on the back of a pick-up in demand from local parties as well as overseas enquiries. Firming trend in futures market also supported the uptrend in select spice prices. Red chilli prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 6,500-11,500 per quintal.
Turmeric futures spurt over 3 per cent on spot demand
Turmeric prices spurted by 3.04 percent per quintal in futures trade as speculators indulged in creating huge positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market. At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in May spurted by Rs 186, or 3.04 percent per quintal in an open interest of 7495 lots.
