indore, India (prHWY.com) January 29, 2013 - Turmeric futures down on higher carry-forward stocks.
Turmeric prices fell by Rs 26 per quintal in futures trade asspeculators trimmed their positions, amid higher carryforward stocks and expected supplies from the new seasoncrop. However, reports of lower area under cultivation thisyear due to scant rainfall during the planting season, limitedthe fall.
Jeera futures inch up on short-covering activity
Jeera prices gained 0.24 percent per quintal in futures trading as speculators covered-up their short positions at prevailing levels. At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in March rose by Rs 32.50, or 0.24 percent per quintal with an open interest of 12,177 lots.
