Indian soybean and rapeseed futures fell on profit-taking, driven by losses in overseas markets, though a weak rupee limited the downside. Soyoil futures nudged higher, supported by an upward revision in the base import price of crude palm oil. US soybean futures lost more ground, falling to a near one-week low on forecasts of rains in Argentina's crop belt.
Chilli, Jeera prices decline on subdued demand
Red chilli and jeera prices fell by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks. Weakening trend in futures market and hopes of a greater area under cultivation and higher output also put pressure on the select spice prices. Red chilli prices fell by Rs 200 to Rs 6,700-11,800 per quintal on reports of higher output estimated in the current year.
