Gold down on EU data, better economic outlook.
Gold dropped ,retreating from the previous session's one-month high, as signs of an improving global economy capped investor interest in safe-haven investments. The metal fell for the first time in the last three sessions, after the European Commission said consumer morale in the euro zone improved sharply in January. Reuters polls also showed that the world economy should perform slightly better this year on recovering Asian growth.

Morgan Stanley Says Copper Price to Rise 7.6% in 2013 on Demand
Copper prices will advance 7.6 percent in 2013 fromlast year as demand in China, the U.S. and even Europeis forecast to rise amid a supply deficit for the metal,according to Morgan Stanley. The bank projectedcopper prices to rise to $8,554 a metric ton, or $3.88 apound, in 2013 from $7,952 a ton in 2012, analystsPeter Richardson and Joel Crane wrote in a reporttoday. They forecast the price to decline to $8,157 a tonin 2014 and $7,496 in 2015.
