DOCTORS PLEDGE TO SAVE THE GIRL CHILD



"The deaths during pregnancy due to lack of access to quality healthcare facilities is equivalent to 400 plane crashes in a year" stated Shabana Azmi on the concluding day at the AICOG conference. She further added that she was extremely delighted to receive the prestigious AICOG award and was all praise for the remarkable work being done by FOGSI as an organization in raising the quality of healthcare services in India.



Rani Mukherjee observed "Doctors who bring unborn children to life is the closest that one can get to actually being God". The nearly 3000 doctors at the Andheri sports complex applauded Rani Mukherjee for being chosen for the prestigious AICOG award. Vivek Oberoi recalled his personal family experiences where doctors played a critical role during emergencies and saved the day and expressed his profound gratitude and joy to the fraternity at large.



Mahima Choudhary unveiled the special "Mahila Bachao" calendar on stage amidst the presence of Dr. Hrishikesh Pai - Organising Chairperson of AICOG, Dr. Rishma Pai and Dr. Nandita Palshetkar - Organising secretaries, Dr. Hema Diwakar - Incoming President of FOGSI and Dr. Nozer Sheriyar- Secretary General , FOGSI. A solemn Oath was taken by all the doctors present at this mammoth gathering to save the girl child.



Sonu Nigam opening the evening with "Shukran Allah" and went on to render some of his memorable Bollywood hits like "Rang de Basanti Chola", "Just Chill", "Saathiya" and many more. The audience thoroughly enjoyed his 2 hour concert. Tisca Chopra was also spotted at this exclusive evening. Amongst the other recipients of the prestigious AICOG award were Mahima Chaudhary, Vivek Oberoi, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Poonam Dhillon.
