Road safety initiative helps drivers with motoring issues

Motorists get their driving questions answered for free by driving school boss

High Wycombe, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) January 14, 2013 - A free advice service has been launched by a driving school to help educate motorists.

The boss of a company that offers driving lessons in High Wycombe has invited customers and non-customers alike to send in their motoring questions for a personal response. The best questions are also being published on the firm's website.

The Ask an Instructor service was launched last week, when Wycombe Driving School boss Audrey Wixon explained how to use body language and a smile to get other motorists to let you out of a busy junction. This week she answers the question: Why do I get car sick?

Her response is: "Car sickness develops when the brain becomes confused because it can sense motion that your eyes can't see. If you are focusing on something inside the car, such as a book or the other occupants, your eyes tell you that everything is still, however the balance mechanism in your inner ear can sense movement. The brain concludes that you must be hallucinating and responds by trying to make you vomit in order to eject whatever is causing the hallucination."

Audrey then goes on to explain how to prevent or alleviate car sickness. Full article.
