Marcus Rolls Believes in Houston Rotary Club

Marcus Rolls is a working professional who serves people in his community and through his work as a finance advisor.

Houston, TX (prHWY.com) January 12, 2013 - Marcus Rolls enjoys being active in his community. He knows there are a number of ways he and others can get involved. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities and charities that people donate to. He himself is a part of a group that proudly serves their local community using their positions as a professional or community leader.

Marcus Rolls has been a member of the Rotary Club of Houston for a while now. In order to qualify to become a member of the Rotary Club of Houston, Marcus Rolls had to fit into one of three categories. He had to either have experience with the Rotary Foundation, be a community leader, or be an executive for a notable business or profession. As a result of his employment with a successful company in Houston, Marcus Rolls was able to use his business connections to gain membership.

"As a member of the rotary club, we find numerous ways to serve our community. There are a number of outreach programs and different committees that people can get involved in," says Marcus Rolls. One of the committees members can get involved in is the Fresh Start Committee, which serves to help encourage inmates preparing to be released to live within the boundaries of the law. There is also the Youth and Education Committee that focuses on high-risk children and encourages them to stay in school.

"One of the most recent outreach events I was involved in was in the early part of December 2012. I, other club members, and the nominees for the Rotary Lombardi Award visited a local Houston middle school to encourage children to stay in school," says Marcus Rolls. This was significant to Marcus Rolls on a personal level because the middle school was near where he himself had grown up during his middle school years.

"When you become a member of the club, you promise to serve. The point is to serve others above yourself, and there is an ethics code to be an honest and fair individual in everything you do," says Marcus Rolls. Marcus Rolls enjoys his membership and being involved in his community. He looks forward to serving his community through the club for many more years.
