Metairie, LA (prHWY.com) January 11, 2013 - Louisiana has some excellent schools of medicine, including the Louisiana State University (LSU) medical school. Students come from around the country to study in New Orleans, and doctors who graduate from LSU find jobs in top hospitals around the country. Dr. Lucien Miranne credits his success as a neurosurgeon in part to the great education he received at LSU both as an undergraduate and a medical student. After graduation, he did a residency program in Nashville,at the Vanderbilt University Neurosurgical Program but he decided to return to the New Orleans area to practice medicine. He now lives in Metairie and sees patients in Metairie, Covington, and Laplace. He is known for his work with Southern Brain and Spine and as Chairman of Neurosurgery at East Jefferson General Hospital.

Lucien Miranne recommends that other local graduates consider practicing medicine in greater New Orleans. The city's diverse population and multiple urban hospitals mean that doctors have the opportunity to see many patients who need their help. Patients from other parts of Louisiana and neighboring states come to hospitals in New Orleans to seek treatment. New Orleans has a great demand for qualified doctors; many of its citizens do not have access to quality medical care. If more local graduates practiced locally, this need could be met.

Lucien Miranne also encourages professionals to live in New Orleans because it is a great town for young people, families, and professionals. Dr. Miranne lived in New Orleans his entire life, and he has experienced the city as a student, a young professional, and a family man. The cultural and entertainment opportunities in New Orleans means that medical professionals have a change to enjoy their communities, unwind, and get to know their neighbors. Dr. Miranne welcomes questions about the academic, professional and community aspects of local life after graduation. Please contact him with the information provided below.
