JobsAbuDhabi unveils top employment prospects at major Abu Dhabi career fairs
Leading employment portal extends opportunities to Western Region

Over the past few months the UAE has been witnessing a surge in employment opportunities. Sectors such as retail and hospitality are benefitting from the country's image as safe haven for leisure and work in the Arab region. The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has been particularly visible as an ideal job destination, especially as it ranks diversification high among its priorities under its ambitious Vision 2030 development plan.
Aiming to capitalize on the positive employment outlook, Jobs Abu Dhabi (jobs.abudhabi.ae), the emirate's pioneering online employment initiative, has been actively participating in various local job and career fairs. The portal was recently included in the Abu Dhabi Men's College's 2012 Employment Expo 2012, and Al Gharbia Career Fair. Jobs Abu Dhabi has been pushing for more employer-candidate matchups in Abu Dhabi's Western Region of Al Gharbia, which comprises more than 60 per cent of the emirate's land area and is witnessing a significant increase in industrial and commercial projects.
Jobs Abu Dhabi was established in 2008 within the e-Government program of the Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC), the government entity in charge of modernizing Abu Dhabi's public services via information and communications technology (ICT). The website - available in Arabic, English and French, has an online base of around 4 million visitors and 700 employers from 155 connected countries . Jobs Abu Dhabi is regarded as an important platform for employers of Abu Dhabi to find qualified and competent candidates to fill job openings and for local and international jobseekers interested in finding openings in Abu Dhabi that suit their profile and preferences.
"By using advanced technology backed by the modernization vision of ADSIC, Jobs Abu Dhabi is ensuring that Abu Dhabi's employers meet the right candidates and vice versa, especially in the Western Region where the growth potential is high. Universities are natural venues for employment networking and so Jobs Abu Dhabi intends to intensify its visibility in this platform further," said Dr. Ahmed Al-Hashemi, Project Manager, Jobs Abu Dhabi.
Among the key activities of Jobs Abu Dhabi is its annual Virtual Career Fair or e-Fair which was held for the third time this year. The event allows employers and recruiters to converse with candidates via internet chat, voice or video conferencing. More than 30 per cent of the e-Fair's visitors are Emiratis, making the event a valuable platform for UAE National jobseekers.
