Berkeley, CA (prHWY.com) January 4, 2013 - Emma Mayerson is excited to remind Alliance 4 Girls members that the organization's Brown Bag Lunch Series will return at the end of January with a conversation on collaborative leadership and mitigating feelings of isolation among women activists. The talk will be lead by Judy Patrick of the Women's Foundation of California and Lateefah Simon of the Rosenberg Foundation.

"I'm really looking forward to this event," said Emma Mayerson, who has been the Program Director of Alliance 4 Girls since the organization's outset this past year. "Bringing together multiple communities of women and their allies is such a huge issue in organizing and activism, especially because capital-F Feminism has often left out the voices of women of color and working class women."
According to Emma Mayerson, the speakers at this event will lead a discussion on the ways that women can sustain themselves as activists and leaders and fight the many systems that instill isolation and feelings of self doubt in women. Lateefah Simon and Judy Patrick will ultimately focus on the ways that community activists like those involved with Alliance 4 Girls can create a "supportive sisterhood" to help women and girls reach their fullest potential.

The talk, entitled Executive Directors Roundtable with Judy Patrick and Lateefah Simon, will be held on Tuesday, January 29 at 11:30 am in San Francisco at the headquarters of the Rosenberg Foundation. Emma Mayerson reminds those interested that all Brown Bag Lunch Series events are one hundred percent free to Alliance 4 Girls members and are open to non-members for a small fee of $20.
"This promises to be a crucial discussion as Alliance 4 Girls seeks to move forward and expand to reach more girls and women with our programming," remarked Emma Mayerson. "I encourage anyone who is interested to attend, to listen, and to add their own voice to the conversations. I think all of us involved will get a lot out of figuring out how we can best work together to enact the most change."
Anyone interested in attending the Executive Directors Roundtable with Judy Patrick and Lateefah Simon can register for the talk on the Alliance 4 Girls Brown Bag Lunch Series website at www.alliance4girls.com and can feel free to get in touch with Emma Mayerson for more information.
