Deerfield Beach, FL (prHWY.com) January 3, 2013 - Deerfield Beach, Florida (December 7, 2012) - Systematic Development Group, LLC is offering the LOK-IT, an encrypted flash drive with Level 3 FIPS 140-2 certification and total O/S independence. The device incorporates hardware authentication using a PIN pad built into the drive, minimizing the points of failure for data security as it involves no software authentication.

Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) is a set of standards made for cryptography devices, including the Level 3 FIPS 140-2 security designation. In order for a product to qualify for this ranking, the device must include mechanisms that clear all data when the device is physically compromised. LOK-IT achieves this by storing the cryptographic module in epoxy that destroys the data if forcibly opened.

The drive itself contains no software or executables that can be exploited, further strengthening its level of security. All authorization is done via the LOK-IT hardware device which also eliminates the possibility of a keylogger or other malware from obtaining the authentication key. It is currently in use by government agencies and large corporations, including the Department of Homeland Security and Apple.

Another factor that sets the LOK-IT secure flash drive apart from other brands is the combination of the hardware PIN authentication, 256-bit AES encryption, and its completely O/S independent design.

Many industries that are required to use cross platforms devices or non-conventional machines with USB access require drives that work regardless of the operating system used. LOK-IT can work on any machine with a USB port such as scanners, smart phones, medical equipment, and more.
