Android Tablet Retailers Sourcing From AliExpress Should Beware - Chinavasion

The Android tablet is a hot-seller, especially since low prices are driving demand up. Those looking to retail these tablets from AliExpress sources, however, need to be extra careful lest they end up losing more than what they hope to gain.

Kowloon, China (prHWY.com) December 31, 2012 - While low-cost tablets from China might be taking the wind out of Apple's sails in tablet market share, Android tablet specialist Chinavasion recommends that eBay sellers should think twice before sourcing tablets from Aliexpress.

"The versatility, affordability and adaptability of tablets using Android is causing the operating system to become more popular with people," says Chinavasion PR manager Rose Li.

Li refers to surveys conducted by the International Data Center (IDC). These surveys show that Android-based tablet models are slowly and steadily gaining market share. Android OS tablet models captured 42.7 percent of the market in 2012, compared to 39.8 percent in 2011.

The surveys also show the Apple iPad steadily losing ground to the Android tablet, with Apple's once iron-grip on the market dropping from 56.3 percent in 2011 to 53.8 percent in 2012.

"More retailers are thus looking for Android OS tab suppliers from business-to-business sites like AliExpress," says Li.

"It is important, however, to be very careful of these b2b sites - especially AliExpress where it is relatively easy for frauds selling fake Android tab models to set up shop on the site."

Li explains that retailers need to thoroughly check the backgrounds of Android tablet suppliers they want to work with.

"Gold supplier status of at least 2 years, professional-looking websites and good customer feedback on the AliExpress shop are signs of a decent supplier," says Li.

"It takes a bit of digging around," she says, "but it is well worth it. The last thing you want to do is have your reputation tarnished because you sold a fake Android tablet to your customers."
